The 2011 Celebration begins Wednesday, June 29th and ends on Monday, July 4th. The theme this year is "It's Round Up Time at the Greatest 4th in the North." The most commonly asked questions concerning the festival are: "When are the fireworks and when is the Grand Parade?" To answer these questions, the fireworks are ALWAYS on July 4 and the Grand Parade is also always on July 4, EXCEPT…when the 4th falls on a Sunday, which is does not this year, so the Grand Parade will be Monday, July 4 at 10:00 a.m.

We hope that the Grand Parade and Fireworks aren't the only reasons you want to come to the Greatest 4th in the North, because we have lots of great events that take place, including lots of FREE entertainment. Every evening, beginning on Wednesday evening, June 29th, you will find a professional entertainment show on the City Park Free Stage, and the reason it was free for you and your family to attend is because of our wonderful sponsors. So if you catch a main stage act, or maybe a clown, or a juggler, be sure to thank our sponsors if you see them. Better yet, we encourage you to go visit their business and thank them, because if it wasn't for their support you would not see any of the entertainers! And as soon as the schedule is complete and all the entertainment booked you will find the entertainers names along with a direct web link so you can preview them on the web.

We hope you pick up a program with a complete schedule of events (or downloaded the 2010 program here ). They were also free, because of our advertisers and sponsors. You will always find them in the Michigan Welcome Centers, other Chamber's, area businesses, the main stage area, in the City Park Information booth and of course at the Chamber office. Programs should be available the first part of may and will be posted on our web site. We hope to see you here in 2011! Below were some highlights already planed for 2011.


Carnival Opens for the Week + Business After 5 at the Town Pump Saloon from 5-7 p.m. Entertainment from Robbie G on the City Park Free Stage.	Wednesday, June 29th, 2011

"Battle of the Bands" plus the new merchandise vendors open up behind the downtown City Park for the week.	Thursday, June 30th, 2011

Karaoke Contests - Jr. Contest (ages 5-18) begins at 11 a.m. and three winners are awarded cash prizes and trophies, then on to the the last opportunity to get into the Sr. finals at 2 p.m., at our last preliminary. That evening at 7 p.m. we have the final competition with $700 as grand prize, $200 for second place and $100 for third place. the winner of the Jr. contest will also get an opportunity to perform at the Senior Competition. Beach Volleyball starts out the day at the Missaukee County Park at 9 a.m. The downtown vendors will open at 11 a.m. with the carnival opening at 2 p.m. Sound Productions will open the stage at 11 a.m. and introduce several entertainers throughout the day along with many fun contests. You may run into Chordiology on the streets singing you a song, so watch for them! The Venetian Parade will pass by the downtown city park at dusk and one of the home town favorites, Alena will take the stage from 7-8 p.m. followed by Brian Lorente & the Usual Suspects. The Arts & Crafts show opens up at 10 a.m. The children’s parade is at 1:00. Sound Productions will take the stage and assist with many fun events throughout the day! Alan Kazame will perform for the kids after the parade. At 5:00 our area Churches will offer a prayer session then our opening act will be on stage from 6:30-7:30 p.m. followed by the Bronk Bros. from 8-10 p.m.	Sunday, July 3rd, 2011

The Grand Parade will begin at 10 a.m. and the Athletic Boosters host the 2K, 5K, and 10K beginning with 7 a.m. registration. Following the parade will be the traditional Ox Roast and Strawberry Festival along with the awesome group, the Saline Fiddlers! The second day of the Arts & Crafts show opens up across from the carnival grounds. Sound Productions will take the stage and keep entertainment on the stage all day and evening with our emcee Bill Conn. The head liners on the City Park Free Stage will be Elizabeth Cannon followed by the 33re St. Band. Check out the complete schedule for more information on the entertainers or visit their web sites below. Just prior to the Fireworks will be your time to win a brand new 2011 Chevrolet Camaro! Make sure you get your raffle tickets or you just can't win! At 10:30 p.m. the fireworks are scheduled to go off. The Chamber had an engineer design and build a brand new barge for our fireworks to enable us to always set them off from the same location even if the winds are high. This should insure an excellent show year after year. They will be set off just off of Miltner Beach.
